Administration
The department of administration provides support for all the ministries of VFC and serves as a point for delivering printed communication to the members and attendees of VFC. Administrative volunteers help as needed by assisting office staff with large mail-outs, folding and stuffing bulletins for our weekly services, or by sending cards to members who are in the midst of difficult life situations, such as a hospital stay or a death in the family. Availability during the week (outside of our scheduled service times and events) is needed to serve in this ministry area.
Communications
The department of Communications provides information and points of interest regarding our church to both our members and the general public through various methods. Areas of service include duplication, web maintenance, copywriting, editing, graphics, publishing, & photography. Skills and experience in any of these areas would make a person a great candidate to volunteer their services to the Communications ministry.
Victory Bookstore
Our bookstore volunteers love to help people find just the right book or gift that they are searching for and also operate in general retail services within the bookstore. Volunteering in the bookstore also gives the opportunity to serve in the area of hospitality as we provide hot coffee before each service and refreshments on Sunday mornings. A friendly demeanor with a desire to help people and availability before and after our scheduled service times is what it takes to serve as a volunteer in the bookstore.
Children's Ministry
Our Children’s ministry is currently our largest volunteer area, with over 40 volunteers serving in nursery, preschool, and children’s church services on a monthly basis. In addition to these opportunities, there is an abundance of special programs, special events, and other support functions where you can get involved. If you love high-energy, life-changing ministry, then the Children’s department might be a good fit for you!
Youth
There is plenty of variety when it comes to volunteer opportunities to serve in the youth ministry at VFC. Those who are great at working with teenagers can be a mentor/leader and help directly in our youth services or even be a small group leader in our mid-week service. Other areas of service include leading special interest groups such as drama or dance, administrative help, special events, or even driving the bus for youth ministry activities.
Worship
Our worship department works hard to provide worship experiences in which we have real encounters in the presence of God. We look for individuals who not only have the heart of a worshiper, but the skills and abilities to minister before the Lord with excellence. In addition to corporate worship services, our worship department works on other special events and programs throughout the year, and we are always looking for creative ways to experience the extraordinary goodness of God in worship.
Media
Our media department supports the significant efforts of several of our other ministry departments to use media for effective ministry, particularly in our corporate worship services. Technical skills and a willingness to learn are a must. Our team includes camera operators, sound & video engineers, audio & video editors, and lighting technicians, among others.
Hospitality Ministries
Our hospitality ministries, including ushers and greeters, are responsible for helping to provide a welcoming and orderly environment during the worship services. Additionally, ushers assist with seating, receiving offerings, serving Communion, and responding to emergencies. Our Welcome Center volunteers are equipped to provide church event and ministry information inside our main lobby both before and after our services to those who attend. If you love to interact with people and help them get the information they need, you’d be a great addition to this ministry area.
Small Groups
Our small group ministry, “Life Groups,” provides the opportunity for church members to live life deeply together. A volunteer opportunity exists for mature believers to serve as leaders of a small group. Additionally, one can serve in this area of ministry by assisting the Small Groups Director with training sessions or general administration, such as making phone calls, duplicating and collating materials, and maintaining records.
Transportation Ministry
Transportation Ministry volunteers provide transportation to and from VFC worship services for individuals and families that need it. To serve in this very rewarding ministry area, a volunteer must obtain a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a passenger endorsement and must be available both before and after service times.
Traffic and Security Ministry
The Traffic Ministry volunteers assist with traffic in parking lots before, during, and after worship services and special events. Experience with directing traffic is desired, but not required, for this ministry area along with a desire to be a friendly face and welcoming person for those coming onto our property.
Security volunteers patrol and monitor the public areas inside the church building as well as the grounds during the worship services. A background in law enforcement would be a great asset for volunteering in this ministry.
Medical Team
The Medical Team is composed of physicians, paramedics, nurses and allied health professionals who voluntarily make themselves available to provide appropriate first aid services in the event that a person experiences a medical emergency or injury while on the property of VFC. Having a medical background or being certified in CPR would qualify someone to serve in this ministry area.
Community Impact
At VFC, it’s important to us that we reach out to our community, and anyone interested in getting involved by serving people outside of VFC in addition to those within our church have several opportunities available.
Angel Food volunteers help by setting up a food distribution center in our building once a month, and they also can serve by helping with administration and order sign-ups.
Prison ministry volunteers are mature believers who go into our area prisons and provide a time of teaching and ministry to those who desire to attend.
For those who are interested in the world far beyond our immediate community, providing communication and support to our missionaries is a volunteer opportunity that helps to keep our missionaries connected to their home church.
Other community impact volunteer opportunities available include community service, construction, and mentoring.
Armada International
Armada is an organization that provides a support base for ministers worldwide. Someone who enjoys serving in the area of hospitality for ministers would have monthly opportunities to serve at our Armada International luncheons as well as special events. Additionally, there are opportunities to help with administration for this ministry such as mail-outs and event planning and implementation.
